These
earrings and pendants are created to celebrate the style and spirit
of Caribbean Carnivals. These Moko Jumbys are fashioned of sterling
silver with shell, glass, wood, stone beads. Each limpet shell was personally
collected on St. John beaches. Each Moko Jumby is presented with a gift
tag that tells the roots of this West Indian parade favorite. Jumbys
are a traditional presence in Caribbean parades & festivals. They
originated in Ancient Africa where they cleared evil or negative influences
from the village in preparation of ceremonies and feasts. Created exclusively
by a Moko Jumby, St John, Virgin Islands.
